Dream Tall Giraffe Ring - Sterling Silver & Resin
This little giraffe has travelled with me for years.
She's been to New York on my hand for an exhibition, home to New Zealand, and to many many shows, and has lived in my own jewellery collection. Letting her go feels a little like saying goodbye to an old travelling companion.
She isn't standing proudly on a hilltop or stretching dramatically towards the sky. She's quietly doing what giraffes do best, lowering her impossibly long neck to graze amongst the grasses.
There's something rather lovely about that.
The tallest animal on earth doesn't need to prove anything. She simply gets on with being exactly who she is.
Set beneath an organically shaped resin lens with a highly polished surface, she's surrounded by hand-pierced sterling silver grasses that wrap around the setting, inviting you to look from every angle.
On the bottom of the ring is a hand-stamped reminder:
DREAM TALL
Not because every dream has to be enormous, but because sometimes all you need is the courage to keep your head above the crowd.
